Branding, Print & Web Design for Dovetail.

Situated in the vibrant heart of Yaletown, @dovetailvancouver stands out as a refined and animated dining experience, drawing its inspiration from the effortlessly chic ambiance of California. Collaborating with @nickponsdesign, Dovetail embarked on the creation of a comprehensive branding, print, and web package, with the aim of crafting a seamless identity that resonated with the modern boho interior while paying homage to the SoCal influence.

Inspired by the California Coast, we used earthy tones punctuated by hints of green and blue, mirroring the coastal landscapes in a contemporary aesthetic. A custom wordmark, adorned with organic curves, was meticulously designed to harmonize with the chic bohemian interior and retro-inspired finishes. The iconic logo, marrying a palm tree with a dovetail joint, served as a symbol of the fusion between West Coast ingredients and the offerings inspired from travel. The incorporation of retro modernism and neo-boho patterns enriched the visual language, resulting in a sophisticated and lively restaurant concept that brought the unmistakable vibes of California to the heart of Vancouver.
